Today’s library media specialist fills many roles.

  1. Librarians just check out books, right?

  2. You must like to read a lot. Do you read books all day?

  3. Do you actually teach classes?

  4. You have to have a Master’s degree to be a librarian?!

I am a school library media specialist in the West Seneca Central School District. Please explore this portfolio about my past three years’ work at West Senior High School (2007-2008) and West Middle School (2008-present). Use the links across the pink bar at the top to navigate my site.

You will discover how my work with students, teachers, and administrators fits into the four domains of Charlotte Danielson’s “Framework for Teaching.” The four domains are: Planning & Preparation, the Classroom Environment, Instruction, and Professional Responsibilities. Additionally, I hope that you become aware of how my work differs from the typical librarian stereotype.
