Lydia Wrobel

I am a progressive, innovative and patient school library media specialist (a.k.a. a school librarian). My master's degree in library science is from the University at Buffalo (SUNY). The Encyclopedia of Rap and Hip Hop Culture is my favorite reference book. My collection of educational web sites is located on Del.Icio.Us.

If you find this confusing, intruiging, or just want to discover what a librarian does, browse my portfolio. It's a 6-page PowerPoint show that explains what I do every day!

Outside of school, I suggest that you take me for what I appear to be. This advice will be particularly helpful when I'm recruiting for a bike ride-slash-quest for funky house music, via the mean streets of Buffalo, New York. (Hint: Remember to wear sneakers... there's dancing to do!)

When I'm not biking through the city on my bright-green Takara 3-speed or teaching information literacy, I spin vinyl house music records. Oh yeah, and I'd like to go back to Texas to eat more breakfast tacos sometime soon.

Explore my site using the links in the blue bar across the top. And when you're ready to do some reading, be sure to check out my Shelfari page. Shelfari is a Web 2.0 social networking tool -- kind of like a MySpace for books where you can see what I'm reading, what I've read, and even my favorites! Maybe you'll find a new book that will soon become your favorite, as well.
